The scientists actually find the basement to lead to a large, subterranian excavation of a remarkably advanced space ship with two teams of scientists working to decode the data in the banks which is written in a foreign language, requiring it to be translated to binary and then into their language which takes time more than anything, while the other teams is attempting to recreate the experiments detailed in the already decoded data which ranges from gunpowder, to bio fuel based on local fruits, to computers, to laser based production technology. The entire place seems to actually run off the ship's emergency kinetic reactors which basically means that there's four teams of women constantly turning a crank to keep the entire place lit up and functioning while the fusion reactor that functioned as the ship's main power source had degraded beyond repair as well as run out of fuel though luckilly the casing hadn't been damaged. Though, strangly, women tended to be the ones doing the heavy lifting and hard manual labor as well as leading the research and experimentation teams while the males were just regulated to errands, busy work, and getting in those hard to reach places

After a good hour and a half, the woman returns with another three carts with crates upon crates stacked within, knocking at the door opening with complete confidence this time
