[/quote] The problem with that idea is that the material you made the pipes out of would be a better heat dissipator than the helium it was being used to pump. Why not just ram slabs of that stuff into the star and use it as a giant heat sink instead? That would help stabilize the reactions in the same way as dropping a carbon rod into a fission reactor.
