FYI, I know Claire cares about Blythe and that she's not dumb.  I know Claire apologizes for Blythe because she thinks its the best way to reconcile Blythe's prickly personality, that Claire tries to 'make up' for Blythe's mistakes in order to paint a better picture of Blythe to others.  Solomon just thinks Claire's dumb and/or doesn't care about Blythe because he's an arrogant bastard.
