[@SilverWolfAngel] Er...not to be nitpicky, but an arctic wolf can only go a maximum of a a few weeks to a single month without eating anything before it risks starvation, and that's at peak condition. They generally avoid starvation due to the fact that they are extremely adaptable and have a large variety of prey to choose from, as well as the fact that they eat every part of an animal they get hold of, whether it's freshly killed or simply an abandoned carcass. The five month thing is a misnomer, and it's stated that they just live in complete darkness for four or five months of the year, not that they go that long without food.
