Nya liked the way the boy tried to correct his grammar to make himself sound more sophisticated. It showed an effort at least. "Well. I was raised around this stuff," she said, making a broad gesture around herself. "My family actually helped start the Council. So, you know, it's kind of in my blood." She avoided his eyes when she said that, trying to glance out the window nonchalantly. She couldn't ever tell if it made people outside of Focal uncomfortable to hear about her history.
