A few hours had passed and lunch had came around, and Roland was sitting in the cafeteria with Steven at a lunch table as they both were trying to eat what was presented to them on their lunch trays. Roland didn’t seem very hungry for some reason though, seeing as if he was lost in a train of thought as he wanted to figure out why Avery was not at school today. Steven was very quiet as well, only instead of him using his head, he was using his eyes while he gazed around every area of the lunchroom to see if anything interesting in particular was going on. “Say, I wonder if anyone is wanting to start a food fight or something?” questioned Steven, “Wouldn’t that be hilarious Roland?” As Steven had tried to speak to him, Roland was distracted in his thoughts as he tried to think on why Avery didn’t show up, thinking of many different reasons on how she wouldn’t be able to. What if her father had beaten her to death and left her in their own home dead? What if he had her taken away to another city or state because of her being gone yesterday? Whatever the reason, Roland couldn’t let it go and wanted to find answers as to what had became of her today. Just after, Steven yelled so that he could get Roland’s attention. “ROLAND?!?!” “What?” said Roland, looking over at Steven with an utter of surprise. “Why won’t you answer me?” questioned Steven, seeing that he doesn’t like the fact of being ignored by Roland. “What in the world are you thinking about that’s so important?” Roland had turned back towards the front of his tray whilst he answered Steven. “Something just came to mind, that’s all.” Afterwards, he picked up his plastic utensils and began to eat, this way Steven would probably leave him alone for the time being, and wouldn’t assume anything either.
