Penelope failed to catch the uncertainty in his eyes so she didn't quite pick up on his discomfort right away. She snorted at his words giving him a tired and irritated look. "It'd be quicker to cross here though." she argued shaking her head. The only thing that was driving her forward was the thought of a warm bed at the inn and she was trying to take the fast route there. "It's likely not even that deep. I've already gotten drenched once today and if doing it again means we get back quicker then so be it." Penelope took another step towards the water before she turned and looked over at him with a challenging smirk. "Not scared of a little bit of water are you?" It was an off hand remark. Penelope didn't actually think that he was and she was merely looking to mess with him.
