Cassandra took Krista's offered hand, pulling herself up, and then just kept a hold of it. She glanced around them, warily. There were signs that something had happened, once you knew what to look for. Scuff marks that could have been claws. Dried blood, from their wounds. The rock she had hammered against the wolf. And yet...they had no mark on them. How was that possible? As they walked back to camp, and encountered Sky, Cassie stayed silent, thoughtful as she tried to figure out what had happened. And then, of course, Sky mentioned hearing howls. A shiver ran over Cassandra. So, then, it hadn't been some mass illusion, some practical joke, although she still hadn't figured out how their friends would have caused them pain and create an injury. It had been real. She looked down at her arm, where the wolf had bit her. Smooth, unbroken skin. She looked at Krista, at Riley and Griffin, seeing that they had joined them. They seemed a bit out of sorts, too.
