the captain gets her pistol out and takes a snapshot at malice's guards, pegging one directly in the head, winging the one on the other side of her, and then missing malice as she runs to cover, the frigate being ported out rather suddenly, leaving the captain alone on the planet for the time being with one of malice's guards dead, the other wounded beyond the capability of combat, and malice herself having taken cover to avoid the surprise laser fire.

the sergal dodges, flames dancing about her as she seems to catch shepard more than once, leading his movements like a dance rather than reacting to them, winding up with the both of them exhausted, bruised, and panting after a good half hour, shepard bearing burn marks in various places while the sergeant is in much the same state with bruises rather than burns
