Well, thanks for the recommendation, I think that season finale in particular was the most Dragon Ball Z thing I've seen since Zone of the Enders Two- Oh. I knew there was a reason I felt slightly off-kilter when I saw that timeskip... I'd been thinking a lot about why I left that other PMD RP after I quit (which was what, almost a year ago?), and went over it again before I joined this one. At first I thought it was because I didn't post that often, and if you didn't post within two hours of the last person, no one would dare to waste their time with you. But now that I'm posting around the same rate as everyone else, I don't think that's the case. I think the real issue is how things stagnate after a certain distance from the starting line: Everyone tends to form up into groups, and then become very oblivious to anyone who isn't in their specific groups. It's like no one bothers to skim through any one else's posts, and it leads to situations like this where people obviously have further plans and even try to open up interaction with other groups, but since one or two of the groups has decided to race to the beds in a way that borders on breaking character, the GM needs to pull a timeskip so no one is left trapped in those very same beds. Like it's already been said, I think it's a pacing problem mixed in with a lack of interaction. I know I have a penchant for pissing people off to the point where I manage to do it even when I'm not trying to, so I'd like to make it clear that I don't think this is really a malicious or even intentional phenomenon. I think this should still be brought up, though, as it's far from conducive to a jolly ol' roleplaying experience.
