Aya jumped back, eyes wide, when Zach screeched at her. She was frozen, scared by his sudden outburst. What had she done to make him so upset? Was it so obvious that he was a Meta? Did he not like talking about it? She fumbled to look for an answer, something to apologize for. But then she wanted to scream, herself. An onslaught of memories and emotions attacked Aya, making her gasp and clutch at her head. Blood, laughter, emerald eyes, screams, Cassandra, bloodbloodblood. Tears started gathering at the corners of her eyes and she thought she was going to vomit. Or at least pass out. She woke up instead. Unable to register anything besides panic, Aya thrashed in her capsul. She felt some tube tangling around her limbs, which was connected to something covering her face. Whether by accident or on purpose, she managed to pull the mask off. It turned out this was a mistake. She tried to cough as the odd liquid entered her lungs, but that just caused pain and panicked her more. After another moment of freaking out, she managed to find the top of her tube and push away the lid. She broke through the surface, gasping and coughing up the liquid. Her chest burned, the tube was still tangled around her arms, and she was scared and shaking, but being able to breathe was a big plus. Aya started shaking as the adrenaline slowly leaked out of her system. Her head spun from all the memories she recovered and she wanted to throw up all over again. Gripping the side of her tube until her knuckles were white, she tried to steady herself. Caught up in her own mind, she was unable to process the unusualness of her environment.
