Name: Anika Matthews Age: 17- Junior Code Name: Will-o-wisp (some call her Willow) Powers: In European folk lore, Will-o-wisps draw curious travelers off the path with their ethereal glow into swamps and bogs. A bit like her predecessors, Willow has the power to deceive her enemies through the use of illusions. Her illusions are basically mind games that fool people into thinking reality around them is being warped. They see what she wants them to see, and as an avid reader, Willow has a vivid imagination. However, since her powers are still in their beginning stages, Willow does not procure any permanent damage to her victim's minds, and she has a limited radius of effect. Like any fledgling superhero, Willow has yet to discover the full extent of her abilities. Her hood is perpetually on during fights, the idea being that her illusions take center stage drawing enemies in while she fades into the background. Like in the picture below, the last thing enemies remember are Will-o-wisp's eyes before they are immersed in the illusion. When she found out that her high school had a book club, she jumped at the opportunity to day dream and discuss with others. Other than the book club, she was content being a normal teen and hanging out with her close group of friends at lunch and outside of school while maintaining a decent GPA. Biography: Anika Matthews had the typical white picket fence life. She grew up in the same town all her life, had princess themed birthday parties, matriculated through elementary school, middle school and high school with her close group of friends, and had an all star sister. It was her own comfortable norm, until the night of the party. Her socialite sister convinced her to go, raving about her master plan to hook Anika up with the perfect guy. Then the explosion happened and in the process, her sister disappeared without a trace. After hours of frantic searching, the police forced her to go home to distraught parents. Not only did her parents have to deal with the loss of their daughter, but their living one seemed more withdrawn. When they questioned Anika, she revealed the truth about her powers. Her father thought she had lost her mind, her mother pitied her and sent her to therapy. In an attempt to ease the tension at home, Anika went along with the idea, and took the prescribed anti-psychotics only to find out that it made her powers stronger. When she received Apollo's letter, Anika jumped at the opportunity to join with others like her to find her sister and perhaps some answers as well.
