Just a word of advice, when you keep preaching the term 'meritocracy' like that it actually starts having a reverse effect. It's a bit like someone walking in on you, and the first thing you say to them is "It wasn't me."
Plus, isn't meritocracy essentially the same thing as survival of the fittest? No mercy for the weak? 

I really should have paid more attention to the 'nightmare' before being lured in by the cute fuzzy bunny wabbit xD
