Depending on how I chose to interpret that we could be right or wrong though
All energy in non-chemosynthetic ecosystems does ultimately derive from the sun, so yes
But all energy entering the system has to be fixed by producers first, and is obtained by other organisms through interacting with the producers directly or indirectly
And the biomass, trophic level and primary productivity diagrams we've been using all obviously have producers at the lowest layer, not the sun

I blame the education system for my failures
