The short story: it belonged to a neighbor and I was handling it. After a while I went to give i back but it wanted to stay with me so it bit and clawed me trying to get me to stay. I thought it was actually attacking me so in a panic I pushed it off...I felt so bad I went to check if it was okay. Besides a few cuts and bite holes I'm fine, the macaw is fine too.
