Even though she didn’t touch him as he unlocked the door, Devin could still feel the heat coming off of her overheated hand. He had the time to expect the touch, and ready himself to not be as jumpy this time. When the warm disappeared he turned his head a little to peek at her over his shoulder, in case she had been trying to get his attention, before looking back to unlock the door. Her words about her Marrok, made him frown deeply, if his heart was beating it likely would have hurt. The realization that she would be ordered to actually kill him hadn’t made its way into his mind just yet. As it was he was just trying to figure out a way to keep her safe. As she finished talking, he let out a sigh and shook his head. “Well lets just hope it doesn’t come to that, and we move quick enough, Lass. Because I died once already, and I’m not really looking forward it again.” He said with a small laugh, though it was laced with a bit of sadness. Devin’s words meant two different things. First that he didn’t believe if she was ordered to kill him that he could take her. Secondly though he would fight her, he didn’t think he could kill Avina even if not given a choice. Once they made it through the basement and out into the field, their fight began. Devin attacked her twice, once from behind and once from the side. After throwing her against the tree, he couldn't help but taunt her a little. He knew fill well that she was stronger than this, that she was taking it easy on him. Devin wanted a real fight, being easy on him wouldn't solve anything. When her whimper turned to a growl, he stopped moving and smiled watching her excitedly. He had made her mad, meaning she would give him a real fight. Even though he had seen a little bit of the change before, when she did it again it sent shivers down his spine. With vampires the change happened only once, it was permanent. The idea of going through it more then once would drive him crazy. As the wolfs eyes met his, Devin smirked a little, both excitement and cockiness showing on his face as he stood there. Bringing his hand up to tell her to come after him, almost challenging her to come get him. Despite how strong she might be, she was slow and as she launched towards him to grab his neck, he quickly jumped out of the way a landed on the other side of her. Tackling her again, his hand rubbed down her side quickly but softly as he made a tickling sound with his tongue. "Sorry Lass, you're just to slow to catch me" Devin whispered in her ear cockily before jumping away into the trees.
