This should pretty much sum up most things for most people. This is an RP, not a porno. Respect others. Don’t fucking swear too much. Don’t be dicks to each other. Respect the GMs (and other players… but mostly the GMs). You get the picture. When you post your CS please include “I love your milkshakes” at the bottom of it to show you have read the rules. Killing NPCs is fine, unless they are key NPCs (meaning they are notable ones or form a big part of a plotline). You can kill player characters once you have gained permission from the character’s owner and a GM. Keep grammar standards high. If you post terrible grammar you will receive a strike. Three strikes and you are out of the RP. Please alert the RP or the GMs of any expected absences. If you are away for more than one week the GMs may take control of your character. I did once try to implement a rule where if you didn’t post every so often you were kicked from the RP but that didn’t seem to work (mostly because I was away more than anyone else!)

The Black Blood Plague The plague has quickly been working its way down from the far North, causing masses of people to desperately retreat south. The origin is unknown, but priests seem to think it’s been caused by dark magic, rather than nature. The plague was first sighted in Falkreach seven weeks ago, and the main horde has just reached Minorhold. There are however infected all over the place, but in much smaller numbers (for now). The Plague is not airborne, but can be transferred through liquids (including blood, water and piss). The most common method of infection has so far been by biting, as the infected have become mindless and cannibalistic. These infected are more akin to the type of zombies you see in 28 Days, rather than Shaun of the Dead. The stronger and faster the host, the more dangerous they are once infected. They are most dangerous when they first become aggressive, as they are in peak condition and still have a moderate degree of intelligence. They do seem to whither over time, but they sustain strength due to the magic and through eating when they can. They are able to take a lot of punishment and the only sure way to take them down so far has been by destroying the brain or by using magic. The timeline of infection is as follows:

Thirty minutes after infection – blood starts to thicken and blacken, with veins and skin becoming darker
After one hour – infected becomes more hostile, becoming paranoid and snapping easily
One and a half hour – infected is struck by unbelievable hunger and is likely to start attacking others
Two hours later – By this time the infected is no longer able to communicate and has fully turned
There is no individual cure. The source must be found.

The Consano is a small group dedicated to investigating the Black Blood Plague, finding the source and with any luck, ending it. They have been commissioned by the King Barius and are being led by two of his trusted knights, Lady Buxton and Ser Chester. Unfortunately, whilst the King does pray they are successful, he has followed the advice of the court and his advisors and decided to invest all the Kingdom’s resources into protecting the cities and invading Dawn. Other than a small bit of funding, the only other piece of help they’ve received is in the form of a decree that has been sent out all over the Kingdom. This decree states that all citizens must aid the Consano and must not do anything to hinder the investigation. For the most part this is unlikely to do much, especially as other decrees have gone out saying that all able bodies are to conscript. Annoyingly, the Consano has been forced to accept the sponsorship of various private individuals, including a slave trader named Orwen.

In the recent past there have been several notable events. Some which are listed here:

13 years ago the North Star Cathedral, the Church of Light's main base in Dawn, was burned to the ground. This raised existing tensions between the Church and the few people that still worshiped the Old Pantheon in Dawn. Since then Old Pantheon worship has been practically outlawed and has drastically declined.
Five months ago the Temple of Sol, just outside of Cliffton, was desecrated by followers of the Church of Light. The men were cut down, and the women and children were raped and beaten to death. The Church of Light has condemned these actions and have themselves placed rewards for anyone that can provide information on the culprits. Still, this has further raised tensions between devout followers of the two religions.
Nine years ago, the Kingdom of Dawn erected three forts along the Northern Channel. It was believed this was in reaction to the growing pirate activity along the coast.
Just under nine years ago the Kingdom of Vasili begun an invasion of Dawn. The first major battle was the Battle of the Chalk, where Dawnish forces ambushed an army led by King Barius himself and caused them to retreat back across the channel. There have been many temporary ceasefires since, but every now and then the Kingdom of Vasili will launch another attack and cause the violence to erupt again.
80 years ago the ancient underground settlement of Titus was rediscovered by the Kingdom of Vasili. Tribesmen that were previously native to the area never went near it due to superstition. It has since grown into a prosperous mining town.
25 years ago the last confirmed dragon seen in the Kingdom was slain by Richard 'The Bear' Buxton. As the Kingdom has grown and it's armies become more deadly, dragons have appeared less and less. Some people say they have continued to see dragons in the mountains, the Far North and the Grey Islands, but nothing has been verified.
18 years ago the Northern Tribes formed an alliance under the leadership of a warrior chief named Cain. However he was assassinated from his own ranks in a very thorough and gruesome way. First he was poisoned, which sapped at his strength and stamina. Then, when he tried to make his way to a healer he was shot by six arrows. To ensure the job was finished, a man named Tanner then got in close and slit his throat. Tanner was captured and tortured, and his name has since been used as an insult among tribesman.
Following the assassination of Cain, the tribal alliance began to crumble and quickly the Kingdom of Vasili swooped in and overtook Fort Cain, effectively ending the uprising. There has been little conflict between the tribes and the Kingdom since then because the tribes are once again scattered and do not pose a threat.

Magic: Magic is relatively rare in the Northern Lands, with only around 1 or 2 people in every 100 being born with gifted blood. As a rule, it is more likely to inherit magic from ones bloodline but is not always the case. A mage could have a child with no magical ability, whereas a ‘normal person’ could have a child that is a mage. A lot is still not known about magic, but it is widely accepted that magic was once far more prominent. It’s said that in ancient times there were cities far greater than the ones standing today, but that powerful mages led the world into destruction and ruin before they were almost wiped out. Indeed, even now people are suspicious of magic and have every right to be; there are always cases and stories of mages doing evil things behind closed doors. Those with gifted blood might not ever know that they are a mage, as their powers are not easily manifested and controlled. Many only find out by accident, often because they are put in a life or death situation when they first use magic. Others might learn from parents, or come across tomes or artefacts that teach them spells. Once a mage realises their power they may be able to train and master simple energy manifestations (energy bolts) or telekinesis. Other than this, unless a mage is taught or finds tomes or artefacts, it will require years of concentration and practice before they are able to perform a wider range of spells. That said, the learning curve tends to gain momentum as the mage learns more; meaning the more powerful a mage is, the more likely they are to learn more. This tends to results in mages being either fairly harmless or very dangerous, with few in-between.

Mainstream Religion: Whilst there does exist various religions, cults and sets of beliefs, most people in the Northern Lands believe in either one of two religions: The Old Pantheon or The Church of Light. Over the last few decades there has been growing tensions between followers of the two, which exacerbated by a couple of particular events. In the Kingdom of Dawn worshipping the Old Pantheon has been practically outlawed, as those that do are often shunned from communities, attacked and even on some occasions killed. In the Kingdom of Vasili the tensions are not so dire, with many people trying their hardest to respect the beliefs of others, but there are still incidents and the tensions are likely to worsen as more convert to the Church.

The Old Pantheon This is perhaps the oldest living religion in the known world. Followers of the Pantheon tend to believe in codes of honour and strength, amongst other old beliefs and traditions. It comprises of six gods in three marriages. These are as follows:

Lord Ruo, God of Earth, and Lady Wae, God of Water
Lord Kai, God of Fire, and Lady Shia, God of Wind
Lord Dorn, God of Darkness, and Lady Sol, God of Light
None of these deities are considered to be good or evil in themselves, and they are all believed to have come together to create life. Therefore they are all equal, although typically families will only really pray to one or two patron gods. Worshippers may erect their own small shrines within their home, or may visit a community shrine or temple. Community shrines are found mostly in the smaller towns and villages, and will normally consist of a statue or artefact in the centre of a town (typically by a tree or similar landmark). Temples are also found dotted around the Northern Lands, with each God having at least one temple somewhere. These temples tend to be found in solitary locations but have their own small communities of priests and priestesses. Occasionally one may come across a temple dedicated to a couple (e.g. Ruo and Wae), and these are considered to be very holy sites. The Old Pantheon teaches three things above all else: Balance, Loyalty and Strength. These things can be interpreted and practiced in a number of ways. Balance is considered by many to mean the balance between mankind and nature, as well balance between man and woman. Loyalty is practiced by devotion to the gods, by keeping oaths, and by being loyal to ones friends and family. Strength means something different for everyone; for some people means being brave, or standing up for the weak, but to many it can simply mean being able to crush a man’s skull. Priests of the Old Pantheon say that magic should not be feared, but rather accepted, and so will often take in those born with abilities and train them to be healers. Despite this many are still suspicious when they see magic, and there have been many events that give them reason to be.

The Church of Light The Church of Light is a relatively new religion (at least where the Northern Lands are concerned), but seems to be spreading quickly. It believes that there is only one true God, the God of Light, and that all others are demons or shams. Its followers are actually taught by some priests to be hostile towards believers in other religions, although obviously not all adopt such fanatic views. Followers of this religion have a particular disliking of Lady Sol, and call her ‘The Great Imposter’. There have been incidents recently where fanatics have desecrated temples of Sol and committed brutal crimes against her followers. As such this has given rise to some tension amongst communities. The history of this religion is fairly unknown, although its relatively young. The Church actively seek to root out documentation of the religion, and would have people believe that the religion has always existed and been present everywhere. Most of their teaching come from Holy Scripture, in particular a book named ‘The Word of Light’. These teachings can be perceived differently by different people, and most simply rely on their priests to give them guidance and clarity. The wiser believers of this religion do not take the teachings literally, but rather look for the truths of the messages within the text. It is said that he gave us life and that all he wishes in return is for us to love him, and to act with ‘moral fortitude’ (which yes, is a very subjective term). This mostly means that followers must regularly pray to him and only him. In extension many argue it means that they should stop others from worshipping false Gods, lest they bring down God’s wrath on everyone. In regards to ‘Moral Fortitude’, many perceive this as being kind to others, ensuring retributive justice is served, and punishing those than engage in unsavoury acts (such as pre-marital sex). According to scripture, The Lord of Light created all existence and life in a single moment, and that he taught the first men and women right from wrong. It is said that for thousands of years mankind was peaceful and perfect, with everyone following the Lord’s teachings as they should. But then, in heaven, corruption begun to spread. It is said that the souls of the dead, simply from being in the Lord’s presence, found themselves with magical abilities. This in itself was a gift and was not a bad thing, but then a few grew greedy and foul. It is said that these few escaped heaven and went back to the mortal plane where they pretended to be gods. Overtime people began to believe in these false idols and new religions developed; and thus people grew evil and waged wars. These false gods gave their magic onto their followers so that they could create more evil. Scripture says that it is the duty of the truly faithful to stop the worshipping of these false gods, which they call demons, and to root out all magic. Fortunately believers in the North aren’t, for the most part, so fanatic and have grown to understand and respect other religions and magic. There are no small shrines or icons in this religion, as worshippers believe that such things are too small and significant to show their affection. Instead worshippers pray at highly decorated churches and cathedrals. Churches tend to be found all over the place, but there is never more than one Cathedral a country. North of the channel in the Kingdom of Vasili there is no Cathedral, and only in Sovereign, Southarbour and Minorhold are there even churches. Priests may either roam around as Baptists or missionaries, or run a local Church. Above the rank of priests are the Archbishops, who reside in the Cathedrals. Archbishops the religious leaders in each country and often have a tremendous amount of power and influence. The Archbishops are collectively known as the Circle of Light. The leader of the Circle of Light is The Grand Cleric, who is much akin to a pope. The Grand Cleric is voted in by the circle and resides in the Moutain Citadel, which is located in Thawn (over a thousand miles to the South-West).

The Northern Lands
This map does not include villages and the like, and 'uncharted' means what it says. To give an idea of scale, it take around 7 days on foot or 2/3 days on horse to travel from the Cross Roads to Minorhold.

The Kingdom of Vasili The Kingdom of Vasili was formed over 600 years ago when a tribal leader named Vasili conquered the neighbouring tribes and the entire South-West of the Celtobar Peninsular (everything down and left of where The Cross Roads now stand). Since then the House of Vasili has continued to expand and now arguably holds the entire Peninsular, although the various tribes to the North would probably dispute this. More recently, under King Barius, the Kingdom has launched an aggressive attack against the Kingdom of Dawn in an attempt to expand south. The reasons for this seem somewhat unclear, but many speculate that it’s because Dawn’s lands are more fertile or because they are unwilling to share their technological advancements. Whatever the reason, it has been a mostly unsuccessful campaign and now many curse it because they are unable to flee south. In terms of architecture, its towns and cities tend to boast grand wooden structures and halls, designed to hold as many people as possible. In the cities and forts you are likely to find strategically placed stone structures, like giant walls and strong castles. The style in many cases is somewhat Nordic, with carvings decorating the woodwork, and statues adorning the roof edges. Many houses tend to have a warm feeling to them, especially in comparison to the cold outside. Religion in the North is mixed. Most pray to the old pantheon, although some tribes pray to variants of it. Recently many have begun following the Church of Light, but they only make up a minority of the population.

The yellow trim indicates positions that attend the royal court. Counts, which are typically chosen from the Royal Family, are put in charge of cities. The town watch, was acts in both a military and policing function, answers to the Count but can in curtain circumstances be led by a Commander. The rank of Commander is the highest military position in the Kingdom, and those that bear it are put in charge of entire armies. Below them are Legates that may command up to a thousand men, and below them are the Centurions, which may command up to a hundred men. At the bottom of the military are the Soldiers and the Slave Soldiers. In equal stance to the Royal Family are the Knights of the King’s Table. Rarely are people knighted in the kingdom, and those that do are branded with the King’s Sigil. Knights can have any background in theory, but often are comprised of Counts, Royals or Commanders. The terms “King’s Table” and “Knights Table” are interchangeable and mean the same thing. This small order originally served as the King’s personal guard (and in some cases still do), but over time have come to serve more as trusted agents. The Royal Guard are now mostly responsible for protecting the King and the Giant’s Crown. The Royal Guard are chosen from long serving members of the military or Sovereigns Town Watch, with the emphasis being more on loyalty than experience.

Sovereign is the Capital of the Kingdom of Vasili, and is the biggest known settlement north of the channel. Its oldest building is the castle, Giant’s Crown, which was built around 300 years ago. Giant’s Crown is an intimidating site; built upon a hill, surrounded by large stone walls, it comprises of a ring of six tall spiked towers and a dome in its centre. It is covered in ancient scorch marks from a weak dragon attack, but stands strong nonetheless. The city is built up around the castle, gradually going downhill on every side. To the west is it’s harbour, once separate, which is now conjoined by hundreds of houses in between. The quality of life varies drastically in the city, with the lords in high town (the area surrounding the keep) living comfortably within the outer stone walls, the traders and skilled persons living moderately within the palisade, and the poorest living everywhere else. Rat Town is considered the worst place in Sovereign, for it is cramped, dank and full of crime; it’s also where the majority of the refugees have tried to settle. Rough map of Sovereign. Light green indicates farmland. Dark green indicates urban areas (housing, etc.).

Cliffton is a city built upon the edges of a steep sea-side cliff, thus the name. The terrain in the area is very rocky and uneven, with the feet of the mountains close by. It used to be the capital of the empire, as its geography made it generally hard to approach. As such, it is a moderately well-built city and many would argue that those living there have on average the highest quality of life of anywhere in the Kingdom. Soldiers from Cliffton are considered to be the elite (or at least the fittest) because they are vigorously trained in the mountains and are often able to buy top-notch equipment because of the mines and local craftsmen.

The Cross Roads is a large town that sits on the main roads from Sovereign, Southarbour, Minorhold and Titus. It has become somewhat of a trading hub, and many come here wishing to make riches or try one of the dozens of great pubs and inns. As well as buying most goods here, those with enough coin can purchase a variety of services from the local crime gangs (including assassinations).

Southarbour is the Kingdom’s largest harbour and is the centre of operations for the invasion of Dawn. Hundreds of ships are built here, and any skilled worker is likely to find themselves a job. Those that don’t can easily find themselves a job in the military. Not only is this place a hub of war, but it is also the only place in the Kingdom where slaves are legal, making this a rather a dark place to say the least. Here, criminals and the like are legally allowed to be kept as slaves for the sole purpose of ship construction or pit fighting. Those that are unlucky enough to be chosen as pit fighters are forced to battle to the death in the Ash Pit, a large man-made hole that serves as an arena. The best that Pit Fighters can hope for is an easy death, or for a military officer to buy them into the army.

Minorhold is a somewhat unremarkable city. Its keep is well fortified, its people fed, and no one is overly well off nor poor. It serves as a strategic point, but it is miles away from any conflict… or at least it was. Minorhold is the latest city that the plague has reached, but it appears to be holding strong. Rough map of Sovereign. Light green indicates farmland. Dark green indicates urban areas (housing, etc.).

Titus an ancient settlement built into the side of a mountain. 90% of it is underground and it was only rediscovered about 80 years ago. Tribal people never went anywhere near it because of folklore, but since being reclaimed by the Kingdom there have been no incidents or reasons to suggest that anything foul was afoot; although why it was abandoned in the first place is still a mystery. Everything here is made of stone, which although is uncomfortable, is somewhat balanced by the fact that there are gold mines further in. The place is illuminated by candle, brazier, and glowshrooms. It is unclear whether or not it has held against the plague, but it seems unlikely.

Fort Cain is a large wooden fort and military base that was seized off a tribal alliance two decades ago. It has since attracted a few traders and inn keeps, but remains a mostly militarised location. Fort Cain was abandoned when the plague was first sighted, and its army was mostly directed to Southarbour.

Whilst tribal settlements like Boulder Town and Falkreach are known to the Kingdom, only tribal refuges will really be able to provide much detail on them. A few tribes do not even have settlements and are completely nomadic.

The Other Northern Lands
The Kingdom of Dawn control the lands south of the Northern Channel and are currently defending themselves from the Kingdom of Vasili. In comparison to their enemy, they have just as many men but with better training and technology. They have so far been more than capable of repelling the invaders but have not attempted to launch any sort of a counter attack; only rarely will they attack a fort or harbour on the North side of the channel. Since news of the Plague has spread they have mobilised a massive fleet to rigorously protect their borders. No ships, be it a military vessel or a fishing boat, have been allowed to cross; any that try are either sunk or burned. The current rulers are King Deximus and Queen Hayley, who jointly rule and share power. Their tradition states that no heir may ascend to the throne until they are suitably married, then they must share the control with their spouse. It is believed that Dawn is a mostly passive Kingdom, with little desire to expand. It’s also believed to be at peace with its Eastern Neighbour (The State of Florine), and is in an alliance with its southern one (The Kingdom of Thermos). Their architecture is very similar to Byzantine architecture. They now have many Churches of Light, having fully adopted the religion; those who do not follow it are often punished and shunned from communities (although it does not hold a death sentence).

There are around six known major tribes remaining in the North (not including the uncharted Far North), a small number in comparison to what their once was. These tribes are relatively small and have over the last century been forced to put aside their differences to hold off the expansion of the Kingdom. Technically these tribes are not at war with the Kingdom because they are not recognised as states, nor do they regularly clash swords. Over than the odd skirmish here and there, combat has been fairly absent over the last two decades (since the capturing of Fort Cain). This is all in the past though, as their lands have now been completely overrun by the blight, and many families have fled south. Most tribes pray to variations of the Old Pantheon, and believe firmly in honour and warrior codes.

The Grey Islands are a mystery to most, as the waters surrounding them are ferocious and full of rocks; many that try to reach them crash and either die or find themselves unable to get back. It is believed that the islands are inhabited, and there are many rumours that claim that it is a place filled with mages. Some even say that dragons live there, but this seems unlikely (though not impossible).

The Far North describes the land north of Falkreach and beyond the Icy Spine (the massive mountain range), which remains uncharted. There are many reasons that most do not venture there, but the two biggest reasons are as follows: the tribes to the North of Falkreach are incredibly barbaric and even scare the other tribes; and because the only other way involves a near impossible trek over the Icy Spine. It’s likely that these lands are mostly covered in Snow, and are probably host to many dangerous animals. Legends and folklore say that these lands are in a state of ever darkness, and that they are filled with monsters like giants and dragons.

THIS IS ONLY A ROUGH GUIDE! The currency in many Kingdoms is gold (and silver and bronze), with the state imposing their own seals upon their countries currency. For example in Vasili you will find gold peices with the House of Vasili crest. A coins value may slightly change from country to country depending on the quality of that country's metals (e.g. A Vasili gold coin is worth a bit more than a Wouden gold coin). Hallmarking is also a thing. 10 bronze coins = 1 silver coin. 10 silver coins = 1 gold coin. A loaf of fresh bread will probably cost you about 5/6 bronze coins. A poor quality sword will cost around 15-20 gold pieces. A decent sword can cost in excess of 50 gold pieces. A full set of plate armour will cost you over 1000 gold pieces (although tbf plate armour is incredibly rare at this time, at least in the North). This is just a rough guide of course. Most people are willing to trade in items and favours as much as they are gold.

Dragons – Dragons exist all over the world and come in many different shapes and sizes. Fortunately for the citizens of the Kingdom of Vasili, the last confirmed dragon sighting was over two decades ago. In the north they are certainly more akin to the western style ones, being large and fairly dull in terms of colour. Whilst some breathe fire, most breathe icy breath that is just as lethal. They are very solitary creatures and little is known about how they mate. Much in the same way wild animals have learned to run away from human hunters, dragons have learned to stay away from large human settlements (especially as technology as advanced). Even so, it is still strange that dragons have declined so drastically.

Common Ice Wyvern – The most likely species of dragon likely to be encountered in the Northern Lands, these beasts have two large wings and a single pair of strong legs. They can grow up to twenty feet in length (head to end of tail), and will use their wings to support themselves when grounded or walking. They are pale and dull coloured, with most being shades of grey, and have a collection of horns running down their head, spine and tail. Their hide is tough all over, but it can be penetrated anywhere with a decent enough thrust of a sword. They breathe an icy mist that is enough to freeze any man to death. Common Fire Wyvern – This species of wyvern is almost identical to its ice counterpart. The only difference are that: they are ever so slightly smaller; they come in much brighter colours; they are seen more in the south (but can be seen occasionally as far north as Dawn); and they breathe fire rather than ice. Great White – These mythical monstrosities are the things of legend. It is said that these colossal dragons reside far far in the Uncharted North and feed off smaller dragons. According to folk lore they have four legs, two wings able to block out the sun, and are five times the size of the Common Ice Wyvern. They say that their scales glisten white like pearls, and that their four eyes sparkle like diamonds. Worse still, it is said that they breathe blue fire so hot that it can melt stone. The Aži – These wyverns inhabit the deserts to the far south. They are skinnier than their northern counterparts, yet their muscles are much stronger. They have thinner hides that are tanned and sand coloured. Their heads are much smaller but they have instead large elongated jaws with longer pointier teeth. They lack tails and their two legs sit at their back, making them more aerodynamic flyers. Their claws, on both their feet and wings, are incredibly sharp and are used to grab and tear at their victims. They tend to fly in packs of three or four, but fortunately do not breathe fire. Only the Queens, which are rare and about three times the size, breathe fire. The queens are too heavy to fly, but they can glide if need be. Dragon Birds – Small pathetic hybrids that keep to the mountains in the south. According to folklore there was once a fire wyvern named Mualim that was weaker and more pathetic than all its kin, and could not find a mate. It is said that Mualim decided therefore to sneak into the nests of the giant eagles and fertilised the eggs, giving creation to the deformed dragon birds. These mutants are small dragons covered in both scales and feathers, which live fairly short lives. No taller than the average human, they are the least threatening race of dragons, but can still be deadly. They have weak fire breath, but can sometimes set their own feathers and skin alight.

Giant spiders – In the most rural forests one may come across networks of giant spiders. These spiders are venomous, but their poison is easily treatable; the problem is that they are likely to overpower you and eat you alive. For centuries, the military has conducted routine culls whenever giant spiders are seen near towns or villages. Vuhkema – According to tribal folklore, dark creatures live deep below the mountains. They are said to look like spiders, but longer and thinner, with sharp black claws for arms. It is also said that their faces resemble twisted female faces, with long open jaws filled with dozens of rows of razor like teeth. Sakomodo – Large serpents of the sea, these monsters can stretch up to 400m long and have incredibly tough hides. These serpents live in deep waters and will almost never rise above the surface. If they decide to attack the ship, they will do so from the bottom and let it slowly sink. Only three have ever been killed, and only through the use of magic. One of these was dragged back to a kingdom in the south and it is said that some of the world’s finest armour was made from the hide. Fairies – Little sprites that are, to be blunt, little bastards. They are furry little flying things with four eyes and sharp teeth, and come in a variety of different colours. They have about as much intelligence as your average earth monkey, and thoroughly enjoy annoying humans. Whilst most people think they are harmless, the truth is that if they are able, they will kill and eat humans and other animals. They are normally only found in deep forests, and the best way to kill them is with fire.

It is possible that the characters below aren’t even encountered in the RP, but they are likely important either to the plot or the characters in this RP. NPCs made by players will probably be added here as time goes on. Players are welcome to submit characters to add to this list. King Barius

The ruling monarch of the Kingdom of Vasili, this 55 year old has sat on the throne for the last twenty odd years. He is a large set man whose once muscular physique has now turned soft and flabby. Although it would be harsh to call him fat, his belly certainly seems to be growing ever larger with each passing year. His hair neatly drops down to his shoulders, and his locks are now more silver than gold. He always keeps well shaven save for his white goatee. His eyes are a very light blue. Like his father before him, he has embraced the idea that he comes from a line founded by a great warrior and has tried to carry on this legacy. As such he is the kind of King that has, on multiple occasions, personally led armies and been at the front of a charge. Fortunately since become older and fatter he has learned that the fighting is now best left to others. He is strong willed but not particularly stubborn, as he will often listen to council. In fact some argue that he relies too much on the council of others and see this as a weakness. In truth it is because he is smart enough to realise that his crown does not provide him with the answers to everything, and knows that there are many who have the wisdom that he lacks. He is a devout worshiper of the Old Pantheon but does not have a patron God. Public support for him is somewhat mixed. Although the Kingdom has done well under his leadership, poverty in Sovereign has continued to grow, religious tensions have risen, and many criticise the invasion of Dawn. She is a princess from the Southern Country of Olobama, and is renown for her beauty. She has flawless olive skin and luscious dark hair. Despite this and the large amount of men suicidal enough to try court her, she is believed to be a loyal wife to her husband. She has little to do with the running of the Kingdom, and instead spends her time relaxing in the palace or watching after her two children. He takes after his father in most respects, but doesn’t seem to have inherited his natural skill with the blade.

General Picard Vasili

The younger brother of King Barius, General Picard is the third in line to the throne. Despite the mountain of rumours, he is loyal to his brother and has little desire to wear the crown. He is in command of the best army in the Kingdom, The 1st Legion. He is 46 years old.

Countess Bree

King Barius’ younger sister, she is the countess of Cliffton. She is believed to be one of the best rulers and the Kingdom, and some have even argued that she would be a better monarch than her brother. She is 50 years old and fourth in line to the throne. Her husband, the legendary Richard ‘The Bear’ Buxton, died some years ago but not before he had two children with her: Randolf and Katrina Buxton.
