Well the place I live in Cal is safe. Upper-middle class community filled with people who work in the Silicon Valley. The city I commute to school though is not safe and people for their safety carry knives due to it is a center of drug trafficking.

I am thinking about moving to Germany (free education!) or Britain or Switzerland for my masters, to see the world, and how safe it is as you mentioned. Thinking about it, I wish I applied at European countries with free education during my Senior year of HS.
