Also, we can all learn a valuable lesson from Glyph's omission: Don't hide big huge secrets about the powers of the person you're taking care of. Rather, you should straight up tell them and give them the reasons why they should never use those powers. A few good reasons Glyph could have given are as follows: There is something more that you can absorb, but absorbing it would kill the person you're absorbing it from. Also, even absorbing a little bit of it will corrupt you beyond measure. The very knowledge of what you can absorb would corrupt you, in fact.
