Name: Donny Lee

Age: 18

Reputation: Donny is a kind but hotheaded boy. He hasn't quite outgrown his more immature and reckless nature despite his insistence that he's an adult who can take care of himself. Quick to jump into any situation without having an idea of what's going on. Can be a bit troublesome thanks to his tendency to steal things without thinking about it.

History: Donny Lee was not born a vampire, but was once a normal human. He was a normal human with a normal life, with a family who loved him and friends he cared for. But that all changed one day. Donny was out in the forest near his home, picking mushrooms for dinner, when he saw what he thought was someone trying to murder a girl. Donny was scared for his life, but as he called the cops he picked up a rock and went to try to save the girl. But the girl didn't need his help; she was a vampire, hunting down a Feral who threaten to expose their existence to the world. Donny didn't know any of this however, and he was only concerned about saving who he thought was an innocent girl from a raving madman. Donny beat the rock into the Feral Vampire, only to get mortally wounded for his troubles. The vampire managed to kill the feral shortly after. As Donny laid bleeding out, most vampires would simply leave those in Donny's situation for dead. But not this one. Perhaps out of pity, mercy, or whimsy, she gave Donny some of her blood, to see if he could become a vampire like her. And he did.

Donny doesn't remember any of that however. He doesn't remember his past life as a normal human, his family, his friends. He knew that he was once a human and that he had a past, but now he was a vampire and must learn how to control it. The vampire who saved him never stuck around to teach him what he needed to know however. He was simply given the directions to find the Scarlet Briar Academy, and told that all would be made clear to him there.

Secrets: While Donny can be foolhardy, he's also very cowardly. He gets fearful and paranoid real easily. One of his biggest fears however is being left behind, useless and unwanted. That's why he works so hard to trying to make friends and make others happy, as he hates the idea that no one would want him. Donny likes mushrooms and sweet things, but he can't stand the taste of alcohol. He also isn't good at holding his liquor either and could get drunk off a can of light beer. Donny always carries a couple of pocketknives with him, though he does have one silver-edged butterfly knife for real emergencies.[/hider]

Name: Nightshade "Professor Nightshade". She doesn't like to be called "Miss Nightshade" or variants thereof. 

Age: She's been around long before the construction of Scarlet Briar, and even she doesn't remember her age.

Reputation: Nightshade is the Academy's Master of Magics, as well as a leader of the security force in the school and city. She is rather aloof and stoic, but she's also the only visible face of the security force and teaches magic to the students. You go to her if you want to learn more about magics or would like to request a job from the school. She is never seen outside of her "Nightshade" armor, worn only by the most elite of the school's security team. 

History: Nightshade's personal history is mired in mystery and darkness. What little is known is that she was far, far older than the academy, and perhaps one of the most ancient vampires of the academy. She has used her extensive longevity to master her magics, and is willing to pass on her knowledge to the new generations. Nightshade however is more concerned about the protection of the academy and the city around it, ensuring that no vampires cause too much of a mess, or for any humans to discover their location. There's very little that can happen that Nightshade isn't aware of, but she keeps it a secret just how much she knows.

The defacto leader of the Nightshades, despite that she's also the only one who makes any public appearances. She takes it upon herself to not only teach magic but also assign jobs and tasks for students and other workers. She isn't really involved in other sectors such as general education, business, or public reputation, though she gets involved when she needs too. And you really, really don't want her to get involved. Typically means that someone needs to die horribly. 

Secrets: Nightshade likes spicy foods and dislikes alcohol. If asked at the right time, she's also willing to sing, and she has a fairly nice voice. She can do impressions as well. And thanks to Nightshade's magical abilities, she could easily disguise herself for the purpose of espionage, though she also does this when she's "Off duty" so she can relax without being bothered by anyone.[/hider]

[b]Personality & Quirks:[/b] Honestly? Kinda creepy. He's nice enough and a pretty cool dude, but he would tell you honestly that he is reading your thoughts at ever waking moment... And no matter what sort of sick and twisted fantasies you have, he's already been watching and taking notes. He likes it when people try to resist him as it gives him the opprotunity to mess with them more. Still, he doesn't just use this power to pry into your personal thoughts, as he will try to fix some of your personal problems, if he feels that he's up for it.
[b]Likeability:[/b] To say that there are those who DON'T like him is an understatement. While playful and never meaning to harm anyone, his magic allows him to violate the privacy of anyone around him. Most would do well to avoid him if they care to keep their secrets, though when asked for help Psyren is very loyal and dedicated. If you don't want him to snoop in your head, either develope the Mental magic to avoid him, or just ask him politely. He might oblidge.
[b]Brief history:[/b] Psyren was not born a vampire, but a mere human. He was turned when he was about 25 years old. Back than he was a slacker and a playboy, taking advantage of his family's wealth to never work hard in his life. But when he seduced a vampire, he took advantage of his exposed state and drained him to near death. Psyren was fortunate enough to have not only survived, but contracted vampirism after the attack.

Initially his time as a vampire was frightening to Psyren. The strange feelings he got in his new vampiric body, the thirst for blood, really freaked him out. But eventually he learned how to cope with some of the more negative effects of vampirism, like his blood thirst, by having multiple "Partners" during feeding time. This way he only needed to take a bit from each partner before he get's full, without too much harm to his dates and minimal police investigations. The only one time he actually killed someone due to draining them of their blood, the Academy found him and offered him sactuary, but only if he was willing to serve some time working for the Academy. He did, and ended up as one of the most skilled users of Mental magics, and stayed as a teacher.[/hider]

[b]Personality & Quirks:[/b] Vandheer can be kind of reclusive since he mostly spends his time taking walks though nature, so anyone who wants to find him shouldn't be looking around campus. A fairly humorless guy, some people may think he's uptight and super serious since he doesn't tolerate foolishness, but that's just him being professional. Outside of his teaching job Vandheer is a good listener and loves to help others. 
[b]Likeability:[/b] Vandheer is a good teacher but keeps it very professional in class. He doesn't care of you're his personal friend outside of the school, he expects you to do your best and behave. This can make him into quite a stick-in-the-mud, but those who can understand this and do as he says will find that Vandheer is still a pleasant guy who just likes to keep things orderly.
[b]Brief history:[/b] Born a vampire Vandheer Lorde is actually a pretty normal guy, all things considered. While his family did deal with the usual struggles of vampirism, when the academy first started to recruit he and his folks moved in in order to take advantage of a much more vampire friendly communitiy. Vandheer hasn't been to the outside world since the late 1800's, and he has forgotten much about his ealier life. But his skills in Nature magic is top-notch, and he's one of the only people who could navigate the forests around the Academy without getting totally lost.[/hider]
