Hmmm. If I could get more info from you, I'd start brainstorming. I usually create the landscape around the people I imagine, but I can do it whichever way, or both ways. Edits can always be done later. Do you have maps/continents sketched out yet? (I could help in that regard if you'd like, but I'm rusty-ish at map making)
