That sort of thing could easily be some distraction tactic. Guts has dealt with flashy fighters before, namely Silat.
Secondly, the Dragonslayer has totally cut through magic before. Remember when Guts fought the Demon Sultan? He was made out of fire, and the Dragonslayer hurt him.

Also, while I really appreciate your trying to pull me into the main story and fire chick would no doubt coerce a less paranoid character, your attempts aren't tailored to [i]Guts[/i]. Guts has spent pretty much his entire life being abused, betrayed, and otherwise tread upon. The one time he made friends, his best friend killed all his other friends and raped his girlfriend until she suffered brain damage. And after that, he got cursed to be hunted by demons. Forever. And I already said how few magic users are trustworthy.

So if you want to get Guts to not murder you, maybe you should send in somebody besides the mage, and your first words shouldn't be "Hey I was tracing you."
