I'm interested but it of course needs to be group RP. Starting as a "colonist" from a faraway world is a good way to prevent players to make big pre-established empires from the start. As for "standard" D&D tech, you mean a clasic fantay medieval setting where somehow crossbows and plate armors are commonplace yet guns have yet to be invented? I don't mind that albeit my fantasy race are going to be quite the inventors (Dwarves, though their metallurgy skills enjoy priority of course).
