[indent]As an infant, Kayn was given to the Je’daii, training in the ways of balance from a time before he can remember. He left Padawan Kesh at a young age of seven with his Zabrak Master, Andane Tymon. The two grew close during their travels to the different Temples, and eventually, when Kayn became a Ranger, he and Tymon travelled offworld to recruit potential Je’daii.

Kayn was left on his own, however, after the two had travelled to Katarr, and the Rakatans attacked. In the midst of the battle, Master Tymon was slain, and with his last breaths, asked Kayn to leave the world without him. As Kayn held his Master in his arms, Tymon faded into nothingness, leaving Kayn with only his Master’s robes in his hands.

For weeks, Ya’qul mourned the loss of his closest companion and Master. Kayn did not end his ties to the Je’daii, however, and with the insight given to him from the Council, he learned to speak with Andane through the Force, and with the help of his former Master’s Force Ghost, he completed his studies.[/indent]

[i]Je’daii Master[/i]
[indent]Soon after learning to communicate with the deceased Andane Tymon, the Je’daii Council saw fit to bestow the rank of Je’daii Master to Ya’qul, and with his new rank, Kayn was given an apprentice to teach personally. This apprentice was a Sith (species) named Kor’zhaf Tao-Ni.

The two, though not always seeing eye-to-eye, did work well together. However, during a mission to Tatooine, Master Ya’qul had to discipline Kor’zhaf for threatening a family of Kumumgah and displaying violence through the use of Bogan.

Eventually, Kor’zhaf came to realize that, though Bogan could intimidate, that was not always the most diplomatic of solutions. When the pair travelled to Dathomir, Master Ya’qul found himself impressed by his apprentice’s behavior, though he was unable to dwell on it. During their mission, Flesh Raiders and Rakatan Battle Droids descended to the surface, and the two were separated as the planet was assailed.

During the ensuing battle, Kayn was forced to make use of the Tutaminis skill in the Force, deflecting blaster bolts with his staff and even his bare flesh. The battle only lasted a short time, and the native Kwa were forced into submission. Master Kayn, though not detained, was forced into hiding.

His apprentice missing, Kayn searched frantically while wearing various disguises to avoid attracting the attention of the Rakatans. He stayed as long as possible, but as his first month on the planet came to an end, Kayn gave up hope, and returned to Tython without Kor’zhaf, deciding his apprentice was either dead or captured.

Continuing to grow more balanced himself, Master Ya’qul was elevated to assistant Temple Master at Kaleth. Though not a member of the Je’daii Council, Kayn became content with his position, continuing to search for his lost apprentice whenever he travelled.[/indent]

[b][i]Personality and Traits[/b][/i]

[b][i]Powers and Abilities[/b][/i]
[indent]Like all Miraluka, Kayn has the ability to "see" through the Force. His sense is attuned so much so that, without conscious effort, he is capable of seeing for more than a kilometer radius in all directions. It is even attuned to where he can sense the death of close companions, even across large distances, which is why, since he has not felt such impressions from the Force, he yet believes his old apprentice still lives. He is also capable of using the Tutaminis skill to redirect energy using his hands and staff. Kayn also, like all Jedi, has the ability to move objects through telekinesis, and can also produce Force Lightning, though he typically uses this to enforce weapons and not as a ranged attack unless necessary.

Master Ya'qul has proven his ability to influence the midichlorians to produce favorable outcomes in all situations, widening the range much farther than simple Battle Meditation, and his ability to influence others' minds and also provide a Force Barrier around a comrade have helped in numerous situations. Furthermore, he can heal minor injuries on himself and others, though not necessarily prevent death should it be imminent.[/indent][/hider]
