Devin chucked a little pulling his hand away from her fur after she nipped his hand breaking the skin, it healed quickly as he whispered in her ear and jumped away into the trees. He wasn’t trying to get away from her, if anything he was curious. What would she do? Her wolf body wasn’t going to be able to climb up this tree and get to him. She was too big, the branches would snap under her weight. Hidden in the breaches, he watched down from above through the leaves as Avina stood up and looked around the meadow for him. When she finally realized he was up in the trees, he fought the urge to smile bit at her narrowed eyes. He wasn’t as easy to trick, or catches as she seemed to think he was. Avina’s leg buckled under her weight a little and he frowned staying up in the tree. He was sure that her leg was fine just a moment ago when she tried to launch at him. She was clearly trying to trick him, did she really think that acting hurt would make him come down? It wasn’t until her body fell forward and she let out the high pitched wine that he moved down lower, the leaves rattling a bit as he moved. Devin hung down from the tree to get a better look at her, only for the smell of her blood to fill his senses. “Avina?” His worried voice cut through the silence, and when Avina didn’t look up when he said her name, he hopped down from the tree the rest of the way, the ground making noise only as he jumped down onto it. Letting his guard drop, he moved close enough to crouch down beside her, putting his hand on her back, to see the blood pool he had thought coming from her leg was actually coming from her face. “You okay?” He whispered.
