We all said our respectable goodnight's and lay down on the ground, using whatever we could for comfort and warmth. Tonight was the beginning of a long journey. To home or to somewhere else entirely. I wasn't sure if I wanted to go back home, I wasn't sure there was a place for me there. But I knew I wasn't cut out for war. Maybe somewhere new, somewhere no body knew who I was would be a good decision, where I could start over. It took a while before I managed to drift off too sleep, the echoes of the distant explosions were hard to ignore.
