I didn't realize that.  Nightwing also doesn't have equipment either.  
Could you add that info soon?  I'll keep going, and you can post, but it helps us understand the character more if we have that info.  The equipment also limits deus-ex-machina type stuff somewhat.

edit: If you need a reason for Red X to be there, I could make the power source for the Time Portal use Xenothium as fuel.  You could then show up to steal the reserve fuel and accidentally go through the portal.
