Personality: 
Matthew has always been rather hot-headed and loud-mouthed, especially when compared to his immediate family. He is quick to temper and often acts long before thinking, leading to him winding up in sticky situations or making mistakes that hurt himself and those around him. His attitude, combined with his upbringing, often lead people to dismiss Matthew as just another spoiled rich kid, but truthfully Matthew is just eager and excitable. Matthew has always believed he's destined for something, he just doesn't know what and he is often tormented by the lack of purpose in his life, only made worse by his parents' dismissal of all his dreams and hopes as mere children's fantasies.

Backstory:
 Matthew has always lived in the lap of luxury, born into one of the wealthiest families in Kalos. His mother was a top model in her prime, and now makes money owning an advertising company and selling her own fashion line, while his father owned part of a large-scale poffin manufacturer in Sinnoh. Whenever anyone in Matthew's family needed anything, all they needed to do was flash their credit cards and it would be theirs. Due to their busy schedules, Matthew found himself being raised by an assortment of staff, rather than by his actual family. He was home schooled, so he never really had any friends.

The only friend he really had was the daughter of one of his Father's friends, Emily. When they were younger, they talked all the time over the internet and for a period of time, they dated. It didn't last long, for her thirteenth birthday she was given a Pokemon of her own and her father's blessing to go travel the world and become a Pokemon trainer. The last Matthew heard of her, she was training in a Pokemon Gym somewhere. After Emily left, Matthew dreamed of following in her footsteps, of leaving Kalos in the dust and travelling across the seas and becoming a Pokemon trainer himself. Eventually, he managed to get in contact with Emily and she arranged to send him a Pokemon of her very own and to book him a Lapras ride across the ocean so he could begin his very own adventure. Matthew reveled in the idea of running away from his parents and now finds himself itching and ready to start his own adventure, despite not having a clue what to do when he gets there. [/center]

Personality: Hope is a very smart Pokemon who likes to plan out her attacks carefully and think strategically. She likes to pick fights, but only when she is confident that she will win, but when issued a challenge she refuses to back down. She isn't too fond of her trainer yet, the two haven't had time to get to know one another and their instant personalities clash.
Ability - Regenerator - Heals a little when switched out of battle.
Other: After her encounter with a Beedrill, she is scared of bug type Pokemon.

Whirlygig - Hoppip

Personality: Whirlygig is pretty slow, both physically and mentally, but is an incredibly happy Pokemon. Whilst he may not be much of a battler, or... Well, anything, Whirlygig is a great Pokemon to simply have around, simply for his optimism.
Ability - Chlorophyll - Ups speed during sunshine.
Other: Matthew never actually 'caught' Whirlygig, he just couldn't seem to shake him after they got out of Viridian Forest and Matthew decided to keep him around, because of this Whirlygig doesn't have a Pokeball but still accepts -and within his little special mind assumes- that Matthew is his trainer.
