How would you feel about a computer hacker style character who'd cheated her way into getting picked for the game, only to discover that inside the scenario she'd be cut off from her usual gadgets and gizmos which would've let her break the simulation?

She'd still be a good problem solver with a grasp on how things work and the processes of systems, but wouldn't have the godlike power of control she was expecting to have.
