Stas' orders didn't really help Edwin's nerves. Especially the talk of hostiles and hiding. Still despite the warnings Edwin had to restrain himself from running ahead and making a mad dash for the village. Edwin was debating internally, he could justify running ahead to warning the village, but this was tempered by the caution of separating from the group in this new world. Still his nerves started to get the best of him and was about to suggest picking up the pace when he felt a drop of rain hit his arm, and then another and then the sky opened up and a heavy rain started falling and putting out the fire. Edwin continued moving, but was extremely confused. Apart from the smoke the seemed clear and little chance of rain. Edwin became concerned about his footing, given that his shoes were for little beyond down the street to buy groceries. "Well this is fortunate. Should we maintain this pace or... wait never mind. Let's just keep on going." Edwin stopped his suggestion midway, realising that the officer Juno's large form looked well balanced, or at least had a low center of gravity, as a soldier Stas wouldn't be unused to trekking in this weather and Linnea? Well she could fly, terrain didn't seem like an issue for her. Feeling a bit like a loadstone Edwin kept quiet and followed along. Unfortunately the dirt road, now closer to a mud one, had a turn and as he went to take it the grip of Edwin's shoes failed causing him to stumble along in a mad dance to maintain balance. After a few steps Edwin finally fell, him momentum sending him into a tree trunk, his left hand hitting it with a resounding crack and somehow managed to get enough of a grip to not fall into the mud. "Sorry about that ladies and gentleman, feels like I'm running on ice."
