Octavius, noting their lack of crew, pitched in to help those who were left with getting things back in order. Once things were going, though, he stopped trying to help, knowing that he'd likely just get in the way after spending so long running a ship, and not just a specific set of ropes. And with Ceres at the helm, the ship made decent headway toward the nearest port. Or at least the captain hoped they were making decent headway. If they weren't, he supposed some corrections were in order. But he noticed someone bringing the first mate a map, so he assumed she was sorting herself out, and relaxed. Ace seemed to have gotten the same idea even quicker. The man was a good fighter, but he didn't seem inclined to do much else. On a larger ship, it wouldn't have even been noticed, but when they were running a ship like this on a skeleton crew, Captain Cuttlam began to wonder if they were even getting any value out of the warrior. Sure, he had been useful in fending off pirates while they grabbed Cyrus, and he could slice cannonballs in flight like they were nothing. He paused at that. The man didn't even appear to have a fruit-given ability, but he could slice up cannonballs hurtling through the air. The man had some gods-given swords, and nerves of steel, if nothing else. He made a mental note not to complain any more. The other few sailors they had were sure to be replaced soon, though. That, or they'd toughen up quickly. There were five on board he was sure of, including himself, and he wagered they would have another two if they could catch the Simurgh. That meant they would have little need for excess crew, he supposed, especially if they were going places that normal men wouldn't have the mental grit to go. And if he were honest, there was no more exciting place to be, than somewhere most couldn't even comprehend exploring. Plus, with all the treasure to be had in such places, it was pretty well a no-brainer. The trip to the nearest port passed quickly while the captain fantasized about attaining the top once more...
