“I know right? Isn’t it just terribly? When a beautiful woman such as myself is reduced to…honest labour,” Silk replied roguishly to Matthew. However before she could continue she heard the sound of approaching footsteps, her ears twitching in response and turning towards the sound. Her eyes followed soon enough. She smiled charmingly as the two strangers approached the two of them, or to be more specific Mathew, whom they clearly knew to some varying degree. Silk saw the opportunity for some fun and lacked the resolve to let it slide by. She suddenly looked angry and affronted, placing herself between Matthew and the woman. “Girlfriend? Girlfriend!? What’s all this talk about a girlfriend!?” she said in a huff, her hands planted firmly on her hips in a defiant fashion. “I’ll have you know that I’m his wife! See!?” Silk said, showing her hand which now had a ring of some considerable value on her wedding finger. As to when the ring found its way there no one could say. Silk’s expression lightened from a scowl into a beautiful smile, a blush finding its way to her cheeks. She suddenly looked so very bashful and innocent. “He was so heroic. There I was, alone and scared, lots of evil brutish thugs out to hurt me. And then out of nowhere Matthew appeared. He saved me without sparing a thought to his own safety! And then he swept me up in his arms and carried me away. Ah, it was so romantic, how could a girl refuse he got down on one knee and proposed, then and there. It was love at first sight, my prince charming,” Silk spoke with conviction, her talent as a confidence trickster showing through. It might have even been believable had it not been for the growing smirk and that ended in full blown laughter toward the end. “I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I just couldn’t help myself.”
