Cavalry was surprisingly commonplace in WWII and it saw a big spike in usage during and after the Napoleonic Era. Granted, I don't mean cavley with lanches and knights' armor, but rather just the use of horses instead of vehicles in rough terrain. I actually plan for part of Tin's army will be traditional cavalry, seeing as Tin is somewhat...backwards.
I didn't say cavalry had no place in the world wars. They offered cheap transport for troops to be deployed on the field. Same with the various bycicle units. The thing is just that some people were not aware of the changing times and attempted to rush down armored vehicles with cavalry carrying rifle, sabers and bayonets. Given that in this setting something like WW1 never happened I bet most nations have yet to figure out the true potentials of the modern weaponry. Yllendthyr is likely one of them.
