ok quick question can I create another char? wont be a prodigy or anything like that but rather a secondary char
I have numerous NPC characters that I intend on playing (lightly) but that do not have a jutsu list therefore will not interact in heavy combat of the sorts (and I more or less intend my jonin to stay out of combat as best as she can - this is about the chunin after all) As such I can say it's allowed to make similar characters who don't have a jutsu list but we need the character spaces for people that are interested in joining us in full. Does that make sense?
So while I wait for everything to fall into place, are people already starting to plan for things?
Yeah, you're actually missing a lot in Skype chat. I've got Yamato linked to several characters as well as his younger sister being linked.. hrm, there hasn't been much planning for subplots related to characters yet that I know of but I think that usually starts during the RP. That aside the main plot is also being discussed in Skype. [@j8cob] Accepted as far as I am concerned but I've got a question relating the crystal armor - how strong do you imagine it to be? Can it be shattered physically? Especially considering in the anime it was done by a jonin+ level nin and you're a chunin. But it's accepted anyway. Enjoy. [@Reflection] time to be the famed asshole with a hard-ass that I was made out to be on skype.
Some are able to travel miles with this technique in a second, while others are less so. Senso possesses a middle ground, due to his natural skill.
Okay, all fair and just but 'middle ground' doesn't give me any info relating to how much he can actually do. I get that this is writing still, but since others travel miles and others 'less so' (that also doesn't tell me anything) I guesstimate from that that he's between 0 miles and 1 mile. Probably incorrect in your vision hence why I bring it up. Doesn't really actually do anything because outside of combat this wouldn't matter much and inside of combat you're mostly gonna be using your jutsu.
Strengths: Swift Release is the ultimate form of movement jutsu. It allows the user the ability to easily avoid attacks. Some would say that a user of the Swift Release can attack and retreat with minimal risk to themselves. Weaknesses: Swift Release is still just a movement ability. The user is vulnerable to abilities that hamper movement. Whether this be some kind of gel or tight spaces.
Okay. Here's my issue with this. 1. There's no real limit to how much he can use it. Technically he can just dodge all attacks if I'm reading this correct. Meaning he can also attack without ever getting hit. 2. If he's vulnerable to abilities that hamper movement or such (you list gel and tight spaces, tight spaces not being an ability but I get what you're saying) then that means that, using the strength of never getting hit, he can just endlessly avoid these abilities? For example a gel user that slows you down would need to hit your character before it'd take impact. And because he has the ability to never be hit that's kind of useless. I think that's a rational thing to remark on this.
Shadowless flight
Okay, this technique illustrates my issue with this technique. From the wiki: uses this technique to move at instantaneous speeds, rapidly striking his opponents at various angles while avoiding any opposition regardless of the opponent's speed or strength. Main issue being avoiding any opposition. He's basically invincible using this technique because he won't get hit, and since there's no limit on Swift release he can just kind of spam this all day. The other canon jutsu you listed (the pillar of light and the string jutsu) seemed fine to me.
Jutsu name: Swift Release: Imperial Dragon
Interesting technique. Kind of contradictory to say the focus of light is the only warning they get and then listing the obviousness of it as a weakness, but then again most shinobi will probably notice a white flash light thing on a thing that gets thrown at them. I think it's a bit too strong in it's effects (obliteration) because what happens if a human being gets hit by it? Will they splash away in body parts or will they just suffer some serious damage?
Jutsu name: Swift Release: Explosive Entrance
Okay, I have to admit I like this technique. It's funny. With shell I guess you meant the user since that's the thing mentioned before - essentially you exploded yourself and your swift chakra to explode something. I guess it's an obvious technique but since it's paired with shadowless flight that means that even though it's obvious there's not much you can do against the user except jump away? If so that's kind of unfair - I'll be forced to watch you and I can't counter you in anyway if you understand me. Feel free to correct me on this if I'm wrong. Never saw swift release in the anime so I might not understand it 100%. I guess the moment you pop up from the jutsu (your 'entrance') I can just ram you in the face as there'd be a brief moment between appearance and explosion?
Jutsu name: Swift Release: Paralyzing Touch
No comments, I'm a fan of paralyzing jutsu. Might want to add a weakness to this technique but I guess that would amount to 'dont get hit by the shining white chakra emanating blade' Weapons are cool and I dig the wire spool launchers. In summary I can say the biggest issue is just with limits of the swift release and looking at the jutsu, limiting swift release would make your jutsu more than useless. My proposal would be to limit the use of swift release jutsu in total to 6-7 per day, so that he really has to think about when to use them. That way you'd overcome the weaknesses (enemies would be unable to really DO anything but dodge, but since the techniques have such a limit it's more or less okay) while keeping the power of the jutsu. Can't say I'm sure about this swift release stuff. Not particularily fond of it, but eh, your character and I'm just here to grade. Hope you don't mind too much about what I said, it's nothing personal. Besides that, I hope you're happy with yourself. You caused a riot in the skype group of people agreeing with the swift release or being very against it. I like seeing them argue over stupid stuff :^) [@Angel Eyes] Yes you may. Lovely avatar and signature by the way. I can dig. [@Altered Tundra]
Kekkei genkai, or bloodline limit Seiton/Star Release/Heaven Style
So yeah I'm gonna be that guy. I trust you to uphold common sense and I hope you realize I'm not trying to fuck you over but I don't see a strengths/weaknesses aspect. Kal-El told you about the weaknesses but it'd help if everyone else could see them as well. Simply saying 'Yeah but I know the weaknesses' doesn't really cut it in that regard. Fire shadow clone is good.
Name of Technique: Ryusei 星遁: 流星 (Meteor) Type of Jutsu: Kekkei Tota; Nintaijutsu; Chakra Flow
Alright so given the fact that I know the weaknesses mentioned above as well I can accept this as long as we actually enforce the strain on the body. Meaning no flying around 24/7.
Name of Technique; Hono no Odori(炎の踊り Dance of the Flames) Type of Jutsu: Nintaijutsu
If this entails the same weakness as mentioned above it's a pass.
Name of Technique: Higaitou no Jutsu (火遁・火外套 FLame Cloak Technique) Type of Jutsu: Nintaijutsu
So essentially lightning armor thing that Bee uses? If so: nope, this is definetely not C rank and I don't neccesarily even agree with the stated B rank of it on Narutopedia. We said no to lightning chakra armor stuff before, why should we have this? If not the same, explain how it's different.
