[/quote]I opted against this idea for my mithril because it would make my nation some kind of "special snowflake" who has tech advantage over others just because.
No, don't take it as a snip at your nation, even though it almost sounded like it.
I just mean my nation had mithril variants for over a thousand years and there's simply no way others couldn't have gotten their hands on it. If by nothing else they could've just scavenged elven equipment to get mithril.
So yeah, I deduced there's no reason others could not use mithril if they want to. The only difference is in their level of industry with it.
As such I went for the other direction and had Yllendthyr trade with mithril, albeit only to a limited extend.
