[@Fallenreaper] From, what I know of the Nautolan their olfactory and pheromone-detecting senses are only exceptionally acute while they're underwater, since that's their home environment. In gaseous environments Nautolan suffer from poor eyesight, but make up for it with their sense of smell instead. While this gives them a slight edge in certain situations, such as being able to smell someone from around a corner before anyone would be able to see them, at longer ranges where eyesight would easily pick out a target they tend to find themselves unable to smell out their opponents, and when wearing an environment suit of any kind their sense of smell is worthless as an aid. Things like wind speed and direction would also affect their olfactory senses, since scents may be carried away with the air flow, or be brought closer in favourable conditions. Since they have difficulty seeing the faces of other races Nautolan tend to rely on pheromones when gauging emotional states in others. Due to their dependance on their olfactory senses Nautolans often forego the use of breathing apparatus whenever they can, keeping their faces, and noses, clear. They also have an innate mistrust of long-range communications, preferring face-to-face meetings with others when dealing with them. With multiple hearts inside their bodies Nautolans are more difficult to kill with critical shots, although their heads and brains are still as much a weak point as with almost every other race.
