As Maximus continued to attack Mel he was honestly impressed she managed to recover from the blast and was able to stop herself from being assaulted by his barrage of punches and kicks. He heard her speak to him as she began to raise her arms in defense, as she began dishing out heavy blows with her fists Maximus blocked them. He waited for an opening, when he thought he had one he lunged to strike her with a left jab to her head, but she had evaded it and her chained leg slammed down into the crook of his neck, a loud metal impact ringing out as it landed, the physical blow didn't seem to do much damage to Maximus's hull besides denting it, a minor injury that could be easily repaired. 

Though Maximus may have looked stunned from the blow he was actually registering an energy spike from behind him, Maximus took an estimated guess that the energy reading was coming from the male who had attacked him earlier, as the energy signature was lowering Maximus lost interest, then he quickly grabbed hold of Mel's leg that was in the crook of his neck with a crushing iron grip as he looked into her eyes, while doing so, in his free hand silver electricity began to jump around it.

Maximus droned to her in a somewhat menacing tone before he spun around, quickly swinging Mel through the air by her leg and throwing her towards the energy signature which he believed to be Dreyar, a second after he threw Mel he thrust the hand he had charged energy in forward and fired a silver energy blast after Mel. After doing so Maximus's body began to emit a low electrical humming sound as silver electricity began jumping around his body while he held a strong stance.
