Basically I was at war with 3-4 nations in the past (Yamatai, Umbraisis and some NPC factions I leave ambigious for now) and happy to have bought a temporary peace with them. If possible the elves wish to avoid war with another large nation at all costs. They also have issues with the colonies so they have enough on their plate. Worst case scenario is that while they're busy fighting Tin, Yamatai or Umriasis will kick the armistice out of the way and strike Yllendthyr in the back. Elves might be more diplomatic in their approach but we still talk about a nation which continously expanded. They have enough enemies. They're just also good at making friends.
