[@supertinyking] the woman nearly collapses but manages to catch herself well enough to stumble down the wet tender and walk slowly over to a nearby house, inviting them in while she gets some bread and cheese to eat along with some milk, finishing it while they sit down at a table with a giant pole crashed through the middle of it. she sits down opposite them before begining her tale "a while back, lord rasimov got into a dispute with a local witch about land. She'd lived in her hut in the woods since before the lord's father was born, but the young lord was a greedy sort and insisted that she give up her hut and rejoin the townsfolk, going so far as to set it alight while she was out gathering food. However, his naivete begat a curse upon his line; 'what has been taken from me shall be paid for by your first son'. Not soon after, the local lady begat a son and daughter but the son died soon after the daughter had been born, leaving him stricken with grief. In a rage he began a witch hunt and executed all those suspected of witch-craft without trial in order to suss out the witch... after the first one, his wife died of sickness and then his daughter disappeared into the forest in a trance after the second. After a while he just began killing off all the women in the village, plague claiming the men until finally i was all that was left. When a rain put out the pyre on my stake, he ran thinking me to be the witch. I'm just a medicine woman and work herbs not magic, the lord needs to be stopped though, the sickness... it has effected him... made him something else... me husband locked him up in his manor but... hasn't been back since"
