A better way of putting it would be that Jack's simple, he likes to think things out carefully and take his time before coming to a decision, and he much prefers to have a straightforward explanation given to him rather than some complicated logical nonsense no 'normal' person would understand.[/indent]
[color=9e0039][b]Backstory:[/b][/color][indent]Growing up Jack was always the biggest kid in the yard, the one others turned to when they needed something moved out of the way, like a house for example. Physically he's one of the strongest men on the planet, but mentally he's... less so. When he applied to join the British Army at the age of eighteen he passed all the physical requirements with no problems, but when it came to the written portion of the assessment he not only failed to pass but he failed to even complete the paper.

Undeterred Jack found a place for himself in the Metropolitan Police, where his simple-minded, straight-forward thinking was an asset during crowd control and riot suppression operations, most people tending to have a very quick change of heart when seeing Jack striding through the tear gas towards them, asking politely for them to surrender themselves. In his spare time Jack practiced boxing, and soon became a fixture on the amateur circuit, weathering the blows from his opponents with ease before delivering the knockout punch.

With the rise of the Kaiju, Jack has offered his services and skills to the Pan Pacific Defense Corps, guaranteeing them a hard-hitting, tough Jaeger pilot who'll see the job gets done.[/indent]
