[Katie] Katie arrived at the gate to the Institute and was a little apprehensive about going in. “You’ll be fine Katie, the rumors aren’t all bad. Graduating from here will let you do anything you want to do.” Katie’s father had told her before she left home. She had felt excited at first, but now, she was starting to doubt she could handle the pressure of only having a year to master enough things to be able to get a job wherever she wanted. Well....no turning back now... Katie thought, somewhat downcast about leaving her family behind. She sauntered through the gate and suddenly felt like she had moved hundreds of miles from the other side of the gate even though she only moved a few feet from where she got out of the bus. Okay, this place is going to work out fine....the rumors about students dying constantly thought the year can’t be true...right? As Katie crossed near the track, she noticed some tables set up and decided to ask for directions. Before Katie was able to ask, a man at the table said “Hello, I need your name.” “Um... I’m Katie Wells..”Katie said somewhat shakily. “Okay...Katie...ah, here you go.” The man said after a moment, handing Katie an envelope with the number 4 on it. “The number is the class you have been assigned to and your room key is inside it, be at class by 10 am today. Class 4 meets in the building near the Garden in that direction.” The man pointed the the direction of the building he mentioned. “Thank you.” Katie said politely. Katie managed to find her class with about 15 minutes to spare. I wonder what life is like here Katie thought as she waited for class to start.
