He's unusual looking for house cat, but nothing that can't be explained away. If anything, people would think he was groomed to look like a miniature lion because of his large-ish size, which is around that of a bengal cat if not a tad bit larger.

Also, yeah, I think male witches are rare by common standards, which would explain more females being burned at the stake than males. For the purpose of the RP, I would say go ahead and declare your character the special snowflake, it helps with plot points. ;3
