When the hangar doors opened, Leo was treated to the impressive sight of the structure's defensive weaponry on full blast, a barrage of firepower greater than any one Vanguard could possibly muster beyond a few unique and usually highly unstable or energy-consuming weapons. Automatic filters reduced the impact from the deafeaning noise and blinding flashes of detonations as the weapons were unloaded at...nothing he could see. And apparently nothing they could see either, given the complete lack of effect the barrage had had and the zero updates on either his HUD or from the command room. It was rather staggering in its incompetence. Taking a moment to recover, he had to make a conscious effort not to bring his hand to his temple as the Brave Magnus stepped outside into the surf, as the machine would've followed his motions to a tee. He approached the already deployed vanguard, a unit so outdated it carried handheld melee weaponry and piloted by someone who, as far as he had heard, didn't trust his machine. Well, at least they were flashy enough to stand out. Since they were clearly still fighting blind from the total lack of position updates, he flashed Delgado a thumbs up as he took position next to him, all weapons ready to cover him. He sure hoped this guy could actually cover him.
