Shiro blinked, finding himself awkwardly caught in a moral dilemma. Looking at what he considered his 'brands' on his forearms, he examined his hands closer. Turning his bare hands over, attempting to read the lines that etched his palms in search of an answer to a question yet asked. It was rare for Shiro to lay eyes on his exposed hands and arms, as he always kept them bandaged or concealed under his long black gloves. Staring at the angry, red-and-black markings, he started to wonder. Uncomfortable thoughts and memories being dredged up from the depths of his consciousness. "A serum that targets faunus-specific cells?.." Hands starting to tremble the longer he looked at his naked flesh, Shiro swallowed dryly. Small beads of sweat forming and rolling down the side of his face. He never considered that other Faunus had species-specific issues that arose. He never realized that he was perhaps more fortunate than other Faunus. Sure, his eyes were light-sensitive, his ears weak against sounds of certain pitches and frequencies, and Gods help him if someone grabbed his tail. But, other than his visible 'animal' traits, he couldn't recall any unique problems arising from his Tiger Faunus lineage. He had been blind, more so than he ever realized. He had been 'blessed' so to speak. At that moment, the Squirrel Faunus attempted to flee but was quickly stopped by Abel. Shiro frowned at how roughly Abel seemed to handle her, but his concern ended there when his keen perception detected a presence approaching. Sharp senses suddenly flaring, his body tensed up as for a fleeting moment frozen in time, another Faunus appeared merely a few feet away from him. "Huh? When did-" He only caught a passing glimpse of the Faunus, but was able to tell that she was female and of canine-origin. A word tattooed beneath one of her eyes. As quickly as she had abruptly appeared to Shiro, she vanished. Whirling on the spot, his nostrils automatically tried to pin her scent, sniffing at the air. A strange golden aura trail left in her wake, Shiro shook his head and was woken from his quiet self-reflection. He looked at his arms as if they were something foreign, an alien part of himself. Turning, he seemed stunned to see Abel there as if only just now realizing his wounded friend was still present. Face reddening, he scooped up his bandages and gloves off of the ground and turned his back to the Faunus girls and Abel. "Abel, we've made a mistake." Shiro said as he shook his head, hastily re-wrapping his forearms. "We shouldn't be here at all. There's been some terrible misunderstanding. Contact the others and let them know, there isn't anything wrong going on here. We should withdraw as soon as we can and notify Beacon of our findings." Shiro finished tying off the ends of his now completely wrapped arms. "A-and, y-yeah. I'll stay here by myself, you go on ahead and find Sapphire. You probably have a better idea of where she might be than I do. Unless you want me to sniff you over for her scent and..." He glanced over his shoulder to look Abel over once, wrinkling his nose. "Y-...yeah, just maybe go look for her. I'll stay here with these two ladies and make sure they don't get mixed up into any other trouble we've caused here." Shiro tugged his black gloves on, flexing his fingers. Turning back around once his arms were covered again, Shiro tried to look Abel in the eye as he normally would but failed and had to constantly break eye contact by looking away. "Call whomever you need to to get us off this rock, but let's not get these innocents involved anymore than we already have. O-oh! And make sure Gren isn't on some rampaging wrecking-ball spree, y'know how trigger happy he can get sometimes when challenged.." Shiro walked over to his sword and shield and yanked them out of the ground. Sheathing his sword into the shield, he slung his weapons onto his back and pulled the hood of his black cowl over his head. Ears comedically poking into his hood, Shiro kept his back turned to the girls and Abel. "I'd make some calls myself but, I kind of broke my Scroll..Heh-heh...boneheaded mistake on my part, sorry." He scratched at his ears under his hood. Turning his head ever so slightly, he wanted to make sure Abel agreed and would leave. A sick and queasy feeling in his stomach, he fully intended on asking the girls some more questions once Abel was gone. Entertaining the ideas of some 'cure' for the Faunus, he couldn't help but be a little curious if maybe whatever medical staff here could possibly help him with his own 'ailments'... "I'll keep talking with these ladies and see if I can't find out anything else. You go on ahead. I'll be fine by myself."
