“I also don’t understand your desire for combat and bloodshed Elise Augermann. You humans are too confusing to pick apart.”
"Hmph. Whatever," Elise responded in an offended manner as she turned her head away from the furball. "It's just what I am. Nothing to understand (cough) there." Elise had no need to explain herself for what she is and how she goes about doing things. She was the only one who could understand the beast in her, after all. She was alone in her battle.
"Unlike our mutual benefactor here, I understand your love of combat and bloodlust. I feel it too. The difference is that I control it. I can teach you to control it or rather channel it into something useful. I honestly avoid combat because the fact I enjoy the thrill of near death scary. I do not want to die and if I lost control of my excitement in battle, I could die. In fact, that primal was almost able to kill me because I got carried away." Rose wipes away the blood from her shoulder. It is completely healed by now. Rose pulls her blue soul gem out. It was attached to a silver necklace. She says, "If that Primordial had struck a little more center, you would have seen me die." Rose puts her soul gem back away.
Elise was a bit taken back by what she said. She didn't expect to hear anyone else, let alone someone as calm as her, to also have the same kind of excitement as her when she goes full throttle. She thought she was the only one who knew the rush. With that revelation, Rose scored respect from Elise, and she nodded to what she said. Unlike Akame, who bored her with stupid talk, Rose had her full attention. She then brought her soul gem to view, and Elise touched her own in response. "Yeah. Once these break, we're goners. But it's (cough) better than us dying to a mere blast of fire punched through us, right?" Elise made a cheeky grin. "I didn't take you for the kind to know bloodlust."
Rose held her hand out to her side and water carried her discarded Urumi back to her. She coiled the blade around her waist like a belt. Its handle stuck by her side like a normal sword would. She then extended a hand out to Elise to help her stand and in a sign of peace. She says, "Elise, I would be honored to be your partner. Regardless of how temporarily a alliance might be. I might look younger than the others by I am the oldest. Akame, still beats me in time as a magical girl though."
Elise took her hand with a strong grip, and took leverage from her. "I think you mentioned being old back in the party. That's weird, what with you looking younger than even (cough) I do." Weird as it was, in a world of magic anything was possible, and Elise was fully aware of it.
"If you do work with me, there is something you should know. My name is not Rea. I am known as Rea. Slight difference, most do not catch it. My name is Rose Elizabeth Andrews. So I shortened it to Rea. You can still call me Rea, in fact, I prefer it. Not a lot of people know my true name. I only trust a few people in this world. I can count them on one hand." With the hand not extended, Rose holds up two fingers to signify how many people she trusts. "I hope I can add you to the count. WHat do you say? You did lose your match. Allow me to bring you up to our level?"
Rose's real name was not that big of a reveal to Elise as the apparently older girl may have imagined. It was the same person behind the two names, after all. A name meant nothing in a world where the strength of arms was victor. Rose was serious about wanting to train her, however. Elise would not have accepted normally due to being too proud to accept help from anyone else, thinking it was the coward's path. But the possibility that she could really understand her coupled with her own desire of growing stronger and more focused led to her decision. She also honored her wish about her real name being secret by inventing a nickname for her; a habit she did to anyone she respected. Whether she would like that or not was not something she particularly cared for. Her grip on Rose's hand grew in power, to the point of attempting to crush her fingers. She gave a big smile, and her eyes tightened. "I'll do it. But I'm going to be a difficult client, with my...temperament and all. Are you sure you're up to it...Razor?"
