Besides being an advisor, as brother to the previous Sultan and uncle to the current, he would know a lot of information about Tin that would be useful and hard to otherwise come about. He'd willingly give enough so as to not be tortured or something for it, but of course there's some secrets that he wouldn't be so willing to share. Actually, if you had thoroughly convinced him to have socialist leanings he could be the one telling them about what was going on with the Zanjir Islands. Being accused of treason and forced to flee for his life would obviously make him angry at the previous Sultan, so before he has time to cool off I could see him telling the PRK how to sabotage his brother's little pet project, just out of spite.
