Bio: Born the second son of Markus Petrel, a butler to House Redskew in the city of Mannaz, he learned to read and write at an early age and showed great promise with his ability to write beautifully. As part of the duties of the butler, Flint scribed many letters for the lord of the house at his father's request. Markus had a horrible gambling problem so he started the horrible game of stealing from his Lord often a few things and planting a stolen object among a fellow servants belongings getting them fired and often arrested, along with the public humiliation in the stocks. Flint learned of it and helped his father in his thefts, when he father put pressure on him and told him what would happen if anyone found out. Flint learned how to lie and steal from his father. His father also taught him to hate the lord of the manor, which was easy because Lord Redskew was a piece of work. Eventually the day of reckoning came and Markus was caught and thrown in prison. The two boys Darius and Flint were thrown out on the street. Darius found work in the local Mage's guild and convinced Flint to come along again to work as scribe. That went well for a while until Flint's sticky fingers ended on taking several things that weren't his. At the time he didn't really think of it as stealing, just getting things he needed to live comfortably. He was caught and reprimanded harshly but there was some lenience shown because the items taken weren't valuable and Flint didn't sell the or try to do anything with them other than everyday use. Not long after, with that 'title' of thief hanging over him and feeling like everyone was watching him and judging him. Flint quit work at the Guild. Darius remained with the Guild. Flint found work as a cabin boy aboard a sea vessel and soon ran into unsavory individuals who helped Flint get even better at stealing and lying. Flint became very attached to one such sailor Grey Garrows. Grey convinced Flint to join another vessel a pirate vessel at the next port. Among the pirates, Flint felt overwhelmed by the tide of evil which he lived. He learned many things while with the pirates about knife fighting and throwing, sailing, brawling, and drinking. He was given his magical tattoo here and developed his poison immunity to several different ingestable poisons. Finally after being involved in a despicable heartless act of cruelty to the crew of a certain merchant vessel they robbed. Flint decided it was time to leave piracy. Next time to port, Flint left the ship and never looked back. Eventually his money ran out and he began to look for honest work this time, swearing to himself he would live right and maybe get married and do some good. But the only employment he could find was as for a noble as a footman. The noble paid him horribly and often docked his pay for the most trivial 'infractions'. Not only that the noble treated his own family very poorly. He beat his wife and daughter. Not to mention female servants as well. He threatened Flint even on a number of occasions. One day after the noble beat his wife. Flint decided he had enough. That night he woke early crept through the house and stole a large number of very valuable items that were small enough to carry. And he left never looking back. So began his life of crime...
