The Real reason is just so we can have more interesting histories. I don't want to force people to limit there nation because someone made it so this one person wasn't born. An example would be someone wanting to play as a Byzantine Emperor in the Komneos dynasty, but someones history made it so the founder of that dynasty was never born.
