Dimitri peered into the crack's center wordlessly as if the secret to life itself would be revealed by the tiny hole. The damage was pretty much insignificant, and any normal person would consider him either crazy or unapologetically stupid to get as worked up as he was about it. Truth be told, it wasn't just the crack in the desk, rather a combination of everything that was going on that was bugging him. The crack was simply the candle atop the cake, and his mind -in a subconscious attempt to avoid a mental breakdown from overstimulation- decided to fixate on that one single thing rather than everything at once. Several voices registered in the back of Dimitri's mind, some of which seemed directed at him. It was a combination of these, and the fact that he was being touched once more that snapped Dimitri out of his daze. The meister let out a breath he didn't realize that he'd been holding before each of the words directed to him pieced themselves together enough for him to answer each individual coherently. It was like his brain was on autopilot, searching for the first response that seemed appropriate and going with it: first came Kalinda who was expressing concern, "I'm fine, just a little bit jittery is all. This is all a bit new to me.", next was Alisa whom seemed to be interested in a partnership, "Sounds fine by me...i'm hardly the pick of the litter myself." he responded without fully thinking through the words, last came Victorique, who seemed to blame herself for what he'd done, "Not your fault. I'm just having a bit of a rough time adjusting to all of this.". It was a few seconds after the last response left his mouth when he realized that one out of the three statements was not like the others. Dimitri was at a loss as to whether he should punch himself in the head or pat himself on the back as he realized that he'd just agreed to potentially partner with someone. On the one hand: he might have just overcome a serious issue, on the other: he didn't know Alisa from the average Joe, nor did he know what sort of weapon she was or what she could do. Dimitri momentarily considered retracting his agreement, however something told him not to. Was it concern over how Alisa would react, fear of not finding a partner beyond her, or perhaps some form of intuition that kept him quiet? Those would be questions for later, right now all that mattered was that Dimitri had someone that was at least interested in being his weapon.
