August walked up behind Mary, and in one fluid motion, grabbed the towel Danny tossed and wrapped it around the girl's shoulders, hugging her and trying to warm her up a bit with body heat. Her voice was calm as her green eyes flitted between the two arguing teens. "Sorry if this is a bit intrusive Mary, but you ARE shaking quite a bit. I know it can be bothersome when people just touch you without warning, but I'd rather you not die of hypothermia right now. Can I interrupt here for a second? I don't know what happened down there, but you both did really good. You got him back, and no one was hurt in the process it sounds like." She turned her eyes to Danny, voice still relaxed as she rubbed Mary's shoulders to try and warm her up. She was careful to avoid letting her bare skin touch any of Mary's clothing however, letting the towel do most of the work. Fortunately, she was now in control enough that the residuals on the towel weren't too bad. "Danny, Mary has a point. This...spirit...was feeding off the boy. I can verify that from when I was in his mind. She kidnapped him, and while it may be for survival, it was still against his will. Plus, you guys did just storm her hideout and drugged her. She's going to panic, and we don't fully know what we're dealing with. How do you contain a shape-shifter? I agree mostly with your plan, but instead of me, have Kanoa help you set up the...let's not call it a cell, but a holding place? She may know some stuff that can help keep her contained. Or maybe she has a faster solution that doesn't involve jury rigging anything?" The redhead pulled back from Mary, ignoring that the water had soaked slightly onto her shirt. The girl was choosing her words carefully. Nothing inflammatory. Her tone was calm, but not condescendingly so. She put the emphasis where it needed to go, kept the rhythm in such a way to not put anyone off, but also not give an opening to let her get interrupted. Green eyes locked on Mary. "But Danny is also right. If what you guys are all saying is true, she didn't want to kill the boy, and may have been pushed to desperation by the disappearing animals. Maybe something worse is out there, and she knows what it is? You probably know better than most how people can make snap judgements without hearing the full story, based off what they see and not what's actually happening. We should get more answers, and then go from there. I mean, you just kissed a shape shifting spirit creature. That you found after breathing water. We should be cautious, but not hasty. What's it say about us if our immediate reaction is hostility?" August adjusted her glasses, then looked at Ramon's form. She remembered the fear she had felt when she laid on the bed. She wanted his opinion on the matter as well. She wanted to talk to the kitsune. She wanted so many different things. "When he wakes up, he'll have questions too. Not to step on anyone's toes, but everyone here is really jumpy and on edge, for good reason. I think I should be the one who talks to him when he wakes up. I...basically felt what he went through. I understand it. It may help keep him from freaking out and making things worse. First though, we should dry him off and get him warm. Same for everyone else, you guys are all soaked." She flipped her braid back, then gave a smile, inwardly hoping no one would take this as sarcasm or just huff and slap her for trying to calm everyone down. They had all been under the water, breathing. They had all just been through something unbelievable and wonderous. They were on edge. August had the benefit of being so used to controlling and deciphering her emotions she could, at least, project an air of calm to try and keep the situation from escalating. Even if inwardly she was screaming in frustration and amazement and absolute awe. "We can argue later, if you still want, about how different we all are and how terrible the other person is just because we see the world differently and went through it differently, but hey...Who else can say they did what we just did? Well...what you guys all just did."
